Verified October 2026: game times, watch locations and injury reports change, so call ahead.

As of Sunday, October 18, 2026, the Panthers come off their bye week alone in first place in the NFC South, and they walk into Philadelphia as road favorites. That's not a typo. Carolina (2-2) is laying 3 points at Lincoln Financial Field against an Eagles team (2-3) that has lost three straight and just lost its quarterback.

Jalen Hurts is out, placed on injured reserve with a blood clot in his calf. Backup Tanner McKee makes his third career start. Meanwhile Bryce Young leads the NFL's top-ranked passing offense at 301 yards a game. This is the kind of October Sunday that can tilt a whole season.

Thursday is already final, London kicks off at 9:30 this morning, and every remaining matchup gets a quick reason to care plus an editorial call.

🏖️ The Grand Strand angle: Panthers at Eagles

Carolina Panthers (2-2) at Philadelphia Eagles (2-3), Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET, CBS

Why it matters: The Hurts news changes everything. Philadelphia put its franchise quarterback on IR Saturday after a follow-up scan showed movement in a superficial blood clot in his calf. McKee, a 2023 sixth-round pick out of Stanford, has two career starts, both in low-stakes season finales. Saquon Barkley has been questionable all week with a hamstring issue on top of it.

Carolina's side is the fun one. Young is averaging 317 passing yards a game and is on pace for well over 5,000 yards. The Panthers score 30.3 points a game, fourth in the league, and they're plus-3 in turnovers while Philly is minus-2. The Panthers' one real worry is run defense: 156.5 rushing yards allowed a game, worst in this matchup by a mile. If McKee hands off all afternoon and the Eagles' line leans on Carolina, it gets interesting.

My call: Panthers 24, Eagles 17. A rested, healthy, first-place team against a backup quarterback and a three-game losing streak. Carolina takes it on the road.

Where to watch: Eagles fans on the Strand have Foster's Cafe & Bar on North Kings Highway (owner-confirmed) and The Crooked Cork in Pawleys Island (owner-supplied lead). Panthers fans: Dave & Buster's at Broadway at the Beach is the general big-screen spot, and The Grumpy Monk on Highway 501 reports a Panthers crowd. Call ahead either way.

Thursday night is already in the books

Denver Broncos 17, Seattle Seahawks 14 (OT)

Why it matters: Denver (3-2) wins an overtime grinder at home, and Seattle drops its second straight. The Broncos keep hanging around the AFC West race behind Kansas City.

Editorial result: Broncos 17-14 (OT). Ugly, close, and exactly the kind of game Denver keeps winning.

London: breakfast with football, Wembley edition

Houston Texans (1-4) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (4-1), 9:30 a.m. ET, NFL Network

Why it matters: Jacksonville is 4-1 and second in the AFC. Houston finally got its first win last week in Tennessee but walks into Wembley as a clear underdog.

My call: Jaguars 27, Texans 17. The Jaguars are the better team on either continent.

The 1:00 p.m. window

Chicago Bears (3-2) at Atlanta Falcons (2-3): FOX

Why it matters: A Panthers-relevant game. Atlanta is the only team within reach of Carolina in the NFC South, and a Falcons loss today widens the gap. Chicago got stomped at Lambeau last week and needs a response.

My call: Bears 28, Falcons 24. Which Panthers fans should enjoy plenty.

Baltimore Ravens (4-1) at Cleveland Browns (3-2): FOX

Why it matters: AFC North heavyweight fight. Baltimore is rolling at 4-1; Cleveland is 3-2 and tough at home.

My call: Ravens 27, Browns 20. Baltimore's the class of the division right now.

Ravens fans: Main Street Taphouse in North Myrtle Beach (official Ravens Flock directory) and 7th Ave Crab House & Bar on the South End. Browns fans: Drifters Saloon (Myrtle Beach Mad Dawgs) and Putter's Pub (official Browns Backers chapter). Call ahead.

Tennessee Titans (0-5) at Indianapolis Colts (2-3): FOX

Why it matters: Tennessee is the league's last winless team. Indianapolis is better than its record but keeps finding ways to lose late.

My call: Colts 24, Titans 13. The winless stay winless.

New York Jets (2-3) at New England Patriots (3-2): CBS

Why it matters: The Patriots are quietly 3-2 and in the AFC East mix. The Jets stole one from Cleveland last week and are trying to build on it.

My call: Patriots 24, Jets 20. New England at home.

Patriots fans: South Coast Beer Project in Carolina Forest (official Grand Strand Patriots Fans listing) and Island Bar & Grill in Surfside. Jets fans: Big Dave's Chews & Brews downtown. Call ahead.

New Orleans Saints (1-4) at New York Giants (3-1-1): FOX

Why it matters: The Giants are the NFC East's surprise leaders, tie and all. The Saints have lost three straight and given up the most points in the NFC South.

My call: Giants 23, Saints 20. New York keeps the surprise rolling.

Giants fans: Big Dave's Chews & Brews shows all games and is the owner-supplied NY teams option. Call ahead.

Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-4): CBS

Why it matters: Pittsburgh is favored on the road against a Bucs team that finally won in Dallas two weeks ago but sits at 1-4.

My call: Steelers 23, Buccaneers 17. Pittsburgh's defense travels.

Steelers fans: The Boathouse Waterway Bar & Grill, King Street Grille at The Market Common, Oscar's Food & Spirits in North Myrtle Beach, and Spencer'z Sports Pub in Surfside Beach. Owner-supplied listings, so call ahead.

The 4:05 p.m. window

Arizona Cardinals (0-4) at Los Angeles Rams (2-3): FOX

Why it matters: Arizona is still winless and catching a Rams team that needs to steady itself at 2-3.

My call: Rams 27, Cardinals 20. Los Angeles gets right at home.

The 4:25 p.m. window

Los Angeles Chargers (0-5) at Kansas City Chiefs (4-0): CBS

Why it matters: The unbeaten Chiefs host the winless Chargers. Kansas City hasn't always looked pretty at 4-0, but 4-0 is 4-0.

My call: Chiefs 31, Chargers 17. The streaks both hold.

Chiefs fans: 810 Billiards & Bowling at The Market Common (owner-supplied, and not the North Myrtle Beach 810 — that's the Packers spot). Call ahead.

Buffalo Bills (4-1) at Las Vegas Raiders (3-2): CBS

Why it matters: Buffalo is 4-1 and rolling; the Raiders are a respectable 3-2 at home. Best game of the late window.

My call: Bills 30, Raiders 24. Buffalo's offense is too much, even in Vegas.

Bills fans: The Grumpy Monk at Broadway at the Beach (Myrtle Beach Buffalo Bills Backers) and OD Arcade Bar & Lounge in North Myrtle Beach. Call ahead.

Sunday night

Dallas Cowboys (2-3) at Green Bay Packers (3-2), NBC, 8:20 p.m. ET

Why it matters: An old-school rivalry under the lights at Lambeau. Green Bay just hung 31 on Chicago; Dallas is 2-3 and desperate to stay in the NFC East race.

My call: Packers 28, Cowboys 24. Lambeau at night is a tough place to save a season.

Packers fans: 810 Entertainment in North Myrtle Beach, the Myrtle Beach Area Packers Fan Club spot. Call ahead.

Monday night

Washington Commanders (1-3-1) at San Francisco 49ers (5-0): ESPN/ABC, Monday, 8:15 p.m. ET

Why it matters: The unbeaten 49ers close the week at home against a Commanders team still stinging from last week's tie with the Giants.

My call: 49ers 27, Commanders 20. San Francisco stays perfect.

Commanders fans: Dagwood's Deli & Sports Bar in North Myrtle Beach and Surfside Beach (owner-supplied leads). Call ahead.
